Evergreen Newspapers, Inc.: "
Bird's eyes are also located in different places in the head in different species. This is thought to be closely correlated with their method of obtaining food. Owls and hawks, the hunting species, have frontal-placed eyes, which gives them binocular vision and the best view of the prey they are pursuing. Seed-eaters and other hunted species have their eyes on the sides of their heads, which enable them to see an enemy coming from any direction."
